WhatCar? Car of the Year Awards 1998

THE TROPHIES

Sponsored again in this year by British Steel plc, I designed and produced nineteen of these trophies for the WhatCar magazine, Car of the Year Awards 1998.

The trophies are made of hollow ferrous castings mounted with stainless steel etched plaques and laser cut 'question mark'.

Also produced the trophies in 1999. Although similar in appearance, these were GRP mouldings.

The main Car of the Year trophy.
In order to identify this particular trophy as the main winner, it was coated with a translucent gold pearlescent flip-tone lacquer.

The winner was the Land Rover Freelander 1.8i 5dr
